We purchased this set for my three year old son for Christmas, along with the Melissa and Doug cutting box food and pizza party. He absolutely loves it. It is realistic and I would imagine you could actually use it for real food -- it seems quite durable. The pattern on the dishes is adorable, as is the checkered interior of the basket, the checkered picnic blanket, and the very nice wicker basket. I looked at several picnic/tea party sets and I am very pleased with the one we choose. Good for boys or girls.

I purchased this for the granddaughter. It comes in a cute carrying basket. It is ideal for the kids to take outside or camping and 'serve' food to everyone.
It is well worth the money!

I had looked all over for a pcinic basket for my 3 yr old granddaughter. She loves to pretend she is having a "picnic" The Alex Picnic
Basket is the very best one I found. It is just the right size and contains all she needs - even a play "blanket". And best of all when she's done playing it all goes back into the basket for easy storage. Great price, great toy!

My five year old granddaughter thoroughly enjoys this set and includes us in her "picnics". I wish that it were not made in China after all the publicity about toys coming from China with lead in them. I only hope and pray that this is not one of them. I have faith in Amazon that they will check items before they are posted. Otherwise, it is a cute little toy for the price.

We just bought a set similar to this one from Target for [...]. The one we purchased had sterling silver looking plates and cups with a blue and white checked pattern on the table cloth and silverware. It's really very cute and our 5 yr old couldn't be happier. She can't wait for the weather to warm up so she can take her 3 siblings on a picnic! We really love this set!!
