3Nice but there are betterMay 02, 2007
By Give me Quality "and not subpar"
This foam mat is nice and cheap compared to others mats out there but the quality is not the best. The thickness of this play mat is on the thin side. When I first put together the mat I put it together in my living room which has carpet. This made it difficult to even walk on the mat without it falling apart. After a few weeks the mat was fine but it was a pain the first few weeks. Also the pieces don't always fit nice and snug so keeping the mat together can be a chore. If I had to do it all over again I would buy the more expensive mat jsut to save me the headaches.

2Pieces don't fit together correctlyJan 09, 2007
By Jason A. Singleton "JAS"
The mat is OK, the pieces don't all fit together correctly and some are a bit thicker than others. In the future I would go with another brand, but for now my daughter has fun taking them apart after I put them back together.

4Great mat for babies and toddlersOct 11, 2007
By Lisa
I bought the alphabet mat for my 5 month old to play on. It provides him with a clean, bright place to play. I also think it will help him to learn his alphabet when he's older. The only problem is that its a bit thinner than I thought. It great for crawling and playing, but it doesn't provide as much cushion for a baby who tips over when he's learning to sit up.

1Is it unsafe?Oct 05, 2011
By virginie
I bought this mat and I was happy with it until I discovered that all foam playmats have been recalled in France and Belgium (other countries to follow) because of the chemical (formamide) they contain that are highly dangerous for babies and kids. The strong smell should have been a warning but I innocently believed that they would not produced products that are unsafe for babies....
I have asked Verdes to comment on the presence of formamide in their mats...as of today I have not heard back from them which is very unfortunate for a toy manufacturer which should have our kids'safety in mind. Bottom line: because I have not heard from Verdes and I take my baby's safety seriously -this mat is now in my garage far from my baby- I am trying to convince the day care to do the same...and I am still looking for a safe alternative that is not so expensive.
