Our family's favorite gameJul 01, 2004
By K. E. Koster This is the best game!! My husband and I have as much fun as the children when we play. My son, who is an early reader, could play this at an earlier age than that recommended on the box. When only three of us want to play, we use a stuffed animal for the fourth player; the children think it's a riot to see the answers the animal "gives." (We select a card from the animal's five choices without looking at it, and the children think it's so funny when, for example, the animal chooses "cotton candy" as something that is scary. This game is one of those games that is both educational and REALLY fun to play. I HIGHLY recommend that you buy this game. We have all three versions! (There are two children's versions - one for younger and one for older children, and an adult's version.)

Fail-safe fun, no matter what combo of players you have!Nov 04, 2002

This is an *outstanding* game- it takes seconds to learn, and is endlessly re-playable. Best of all (for us, anyway!) is that it is a game that can really be played in mixed age groups. Even the youngest player (who probably really should be at least 6 & have a pretty good vocabulary)can hold their own, and the adults don't have to keep things 'smooth'- they can let loose and play their hardest: the rotating judge and the luck element ensure that even a kid who is usually a poor ...will have plenty of fun and success. Several reviewers have noted that the game really isn't about winning- even v. competitive types just get into the fast game play. And it is fast- a game can be finished in 20 minutes or less. Our kids play this game over & over- with us as a family, and with their friends and cousins. Tremendous value!

Great fun!Dec 05, 2000
This is a fast-paced game that you will want to play over and over again. The only problem with it is that you need at least 4 people to play, but that does make it good for family gatherings. It is fun, and funny, and appealing to all ages.

A winner -- enchanting and easyApr 13, 2002
The more players, the more fun the game, but I have enjoyed playing it even with just two people. Kids need to be able to read to enjoy the game. The game is an fascinating juxtaposition of nouns and adjectives. Each player plays their best match of a noun to a given adjective. You must play something, even if you don't have a "good" match. The fun is in the unusual combinations and discussion of what the best match might be (eg., Cinderella -- squishy). It triggers verbal imagination in a way reminiscent of the magnetic poetry game. I've played this game with girls, boys, and adult/child mix and had fun everytime. Another big plus (to me anyway) of the game is that it does not have to take a lot of time. Although the official rules say to keep playing until someone 'wins' four matches, you can play this game fewer or more rounds and still have continuity of the game.

Best Christmas gift ever!!!Dec 28, 2004
By Dixie L. Bahma My 6 year old daughter got this game for Christmas at her grandparent's house. At one time there were 7 of us playing. (ages 6-43)
It was so funny to see my husband and his brother try to figure out the answers that the girls gave. (which were the funniest ones my sisters in law, my daughter and I could come up with. The boys thought they were playing it wrong.) It was also great to see my husband and his brother and sister connect again. Not just the normal, "How's work?". They really dug deep in their memories to see what they thought their brothers or sister would say. It was amazing how right they were most of the time.
You always knew you had a winner if you had MY MOTHER in your hand. Who was going to make grandma mad. (or me when it was my daughter!)
We even stayed an extra day to play this all afternoon. YOu should have heard the "YES!" when one of the adults beat the 6 year old. (which was rare) She was so proud of herself. Almost everytime, someone would ask the "judge" what would you pick second. LOL!
Great memories for years to come I think! I hope there are expansion packs for the Jr. game. We have a 3 year old coming up next.
