2Dangerous for the daring toddler...May 07, 2007
By diablo cat
This toy is a really bad fit for my toddler. I purchased the toy for him when he was just starting to walk. I got a great price on it at [...], I love the Parent toys in general & this looked great. The first thing he did was to find a really creative way to jam his finger in the edge of the lower block compartment. Looking at the toy, you would never think this was possible - but the lower lid is designed differently than the upper lid and he stuck his finger on the side and closed the lid. He could not get his finger out and it was purple for several days. So we took the blocks out and taped the lid shut. Well - we have wood floors and had the same problem some of the other reviewers had. It moves too fast on wood. My husband used tape and messed with the wheels to slow the walker down so my son could try to use it - - but he kept falling when pushing it and there are no breaks to lock it in place - - so we had to put it in a corner where my son couldn't use it as a walker. My son is now walking really well - - so I pulled it out of the corner this weekend to see if we could use it as a mobile toy. Well - no dice. My son is now a climber and this toy CRIES OUT for climbing. It looks like a step ladder but it doesn't have enough support to hold him so he can climb the stairs and flips right over the handle (if left with the toy for even a second). Also now that he can walk with it, he can pull it over on top of himself if he is pulling on the handle rather than pushing. So - third strike and it's out. I think this toy is really dangerous if you have an adventurous tot, I can't recommend it. The blocks are awesome. It looks pretty. It is built in a very sturdy manner. But there is no way I can have our son play with it unless I am all over him making sure he doesn't crack his skull open playing with it. What a disappointment! His daycare also purchased the toy and had similar issues with a variety of kids so they have gotten rid of it.

4Great for little hands & minds!Nov 28, 2006

I got this for our son for his first bithday. Right away he pushed the toy and screamed with delight. He couldn't turn it around (he was mad)and that would be the only dissapointment we would face. I love that there is a gap between the lids so his fingers cannot get crushed. My favorite thing about it is that it comes with 3 different types of blocks for the different ages/skill levels. The rubber ones are excellect for the first stacking tries!! He is now 17 months and is using it as a chair as well as a play toy. The soft cotton blocks he is currently using for a tossing game. This toy seems to keep having more and more uses! I would recommend this for the beginner/walking stages!

5Great Walker!Feb 20, 2007
By William Spencer
We bought this walker for our daughter's first birthday and she absolutely loves it. She plays with it all the time and is really proud of herself for learning to walk with it. She just beams when she is using it.

The solid wood construction makes it very durable. Its tip-proof design makes it safe too. My daughter can pull to a standing without the walker falling over. She even climbs on the front of it and it still does not tip.

Did I mention how cute it is too? Reminds me of those good old fashion wood toys but kicked up a notch. Can't say enough good things about this walker. One of the best toy purchases we have made yet.

I bought this for my daughter when she was 7 months old. She is now 4. She and her younger sister still play with this often. I have a toy chest full of many toys. This is the only toy that I have purchased that has been used for so long and so often. It's great!!

There are 3 types of blocks. Some that are fabric that are best for the 6-18 month age group. There are rubber like blocks that are best fro 9-24 months. Then there are the wooden blocks with lots of pictures. My kids still stack the blocks and view the pictures on the wooden blocks. My 4 year old loves to build stuff with the wooden blocks.

The walker/cart was used as a walker and now is used as a stepping stool.

I recently purchased this for my nephew who is 12 months old and he loves it. His parents doubted that there would be another toy he receives that will be used as much as this Block Walker.

This is an A+++++ toy! If I could only buy one toy for my kids it would be this Around the Block Walker.

5Great purchase, many different uses!Sep 07, 2006

We purchased this about a month ago, and are really enjoying it. My daughter is just 10 months old, and not quite walking yet. She very easily picked up how to walk while holding onto the wagon, and loves walking around the house. The wagon is cleverly designed so it is very hard (I'd say almost impossible for a child) to pull it over.
She also loves lifting and closing the lids and putting the blocks in and out of the compartments. The blocks are really cool too - I especially like the rubber number blocks.
