5Perfect Baby GiftDec 30, 2007
By bondgirl
My standard first Christmas gift for my kids is a photo album of favorite people. This is by far the best album. The top is a little carry handle the child can chew on. The pages are adorable, and there are little flaps that ensure the pictures won't slip out. The album is plastic, so of course the pictures kind of stick to the pages, but we're not talking acid-free quality photo stuff, it is something a baby can beat up and chew on. There are little Einstein characters on each page your kid can probably recognize from the videos. We fill each of our books with pictures of Mommy & Daddy, siblings, grandparents, etc., and this one has a little slot on the front that is perfect for a close-up of the baby. Everyone just flipped over it, much more so than the cloth ones we've used in the past (which, by the way, had places to write in them and the ink ran when it got slobbered on).

4Better visibility, but fewer photo slotsMar 10, 2008
By Book Lovin' Mom
I bought this album and the "Who Loves Baby" album that is also widely available in stores. This one is better. The plastic used to line the picture sleeves is a matte finish, whereas the "Who Loves Baby" is a shiney finish that causes distracting bubbles, lines, and sticky discolorations of the photos. In low light the "Who Loves Baby" book works well, but in any kind of sunlight, window light, or bright light you have trouble seeing the picture without reflections.

There are two "Who Loves Baby" book versions out there. One is rectangular--the slots in those books are a little less troublesome with reflections, but still stick to the photos in an odd way. The other version has a wavy, rounded shape--that's the one with really awful reflections/stickiness. Avoid that version if you can.

The Baby Einstein book is much easier to look through. It has the matte plastic sleeves, little tabs for turning the pages, and a more solid feel.

My only complaint is that it holds fewer photos than the "Who Loves Baby" book. That one holds two more (or three, depending on how you use it) than the Einstein version. The Einstein book holds one wallet photo (on the cover) and five 4x6 photos. I wish it held six or seven 4x6s.

5Great ProductFeb 27, 2008

This is a great photo album. I would however rate it for toddlers and older not infants even though it is also a teether. Overall I love it!!!

1Is this product made of PVC?Dec 24, 2008
By Concerned Mom
I have an email into Kids II to confirm, but I think this product is made of toxic PVC and SHOULD NOT be handled and chewed on by babies. I was given one as a gift, and I started thinking twice about letting my baby chew on it after I got a whiff from the inside of the book (off-gassing). After all the media publicity on toxic PVC shower curtains, I can't believe no one seems concerned about babies chewing the same material!

1Made with PVCJun 22, 2009
By T. Dang
I got two of these as gifts...it is an adorable concept since I love pictures, however the product is made with PVC. PVC - the worst plastic for you and the environment...it can leach harmful chemicals and being that your baby will chew on this...not a good idea! Come on Baby Einstein...find other materials!!
