Wonderful & Bigger Than It AppearsJan 25, 2011
By Kerridwen Eliot Henry I just want to echo what everyone else has said. This is a great puzzle. When I saw the preview picture, I imagined it was miniature size, but it's about as tall as a piece of paper.
This puzzle is a great way to teach questioning preschoolers about the body - the corresponding girl puzzle can be used with it to teach the basic difference between girls and boys (if asked) and everything else helps reinforce how similar we are.
There are only two things that I don't like about the puzzle:
1. It is only available as a pale skinned caucasian.
2. The boy and girl puzzles are ALMOST the same size, but not truly interchangeable. This makes it very hard if your child wants to work on both puzzles side by side, because it will look like the arm piece would fit in either puzzle, but actually it is will only fit flush on one of them. Besides being annoying, this also takes away from the message that both boys and girls have mostly similar body parts (same kind of lungs, same skull, etc).

Fantastic!Dec 30, 2009
By D. Turner This puzzle is fantastic! I had to show my 3.5 year old how to put the puzzle together the first time he used it but after that he was a pro at putting it together and taking it apart. He take it apart/put it together over and over again for awhile. He finds it fascinating and loves to talk about all the different body parts. I will explain to him what each body part does and he loves it - it's a very educational puzzle! This puzzle is made of solid well made wood - would last forever. Totally totally recommend!!!

Excellent puzzleNov 08, 2007
By Kimberly R. Wier I saw my 2.5 year old son put this puzzle together in his daycare room. I was impressed and his teacher told me that all the kids love the puzzle and can put it together (room is 2-3 year olds). It's a great opportunity to talk about the different parts of the body. The teacher has been so impressed with the puzzle she went out and bought the Seasons one for the classroom.

Nice quality wood, but some surprisingly sharp and dangerous edgesSep 07, 2011

I was surprised at the quality of this toy given it was made in China, however some of the smaller pieces (e.g., the arm) have very sharp edges that could definitely hurt a child. Don't know why the manufacturer didn't round out these edges as it would have been very simple and safe for all to do that.

It's not too difficult for my two year old - and he loves it!!!Jul 10, 2010

I thought this may be a bit beyond my two year old when I purchased it. However, we've only had it for three days and he can now put it together completely by himself. At first I had to separate the pieces for each layer for him, but after using it a lot the past two days (it's a hit!) he can now do the entire puzzle by himself.
Very nice construction, although the pieces are thinner than I thought they would be (probably necessary since there are basically 4 puzzles in one - the fifth layer is just painted onto the bottom of the puzzle). Also, from the description on Amazon I wasn't clear that each layer was actually a puzzle, or if it was just one piece per layer. I was happy to find out when I received the puzzle that there are several pieces to each layer (7 pieces per layer to be exact).
My son does not yet understand what he's looking at when he sees the layers, but I think this toy will be a favorite for years to come and its educational value is very high.
We HIGHLY recommend this toy...and don't underestimate your toddler - he or she can probably do this puzzle and hopefully will be as entertained with this toy as my son.
