Why buy these blocks rather than Melissa and Doug?
1. Great quality - embossed, has animal pictures and names, light-weight, good quality wood.
2. Made in the USA
3. SIZE - it is larger than the M & D blocks.
4. Heirloom - you can hand them down, or even use them as decor later.

I was looking for wooden blocks, made in the USA. These blocks are absolutely beautiful and my 10 month old baby loves them. She likes to smack them together and throw them on the floor and they are very durable. I don't worry about her putting them in her mouth either. One thing I will note, if you can order the wagon to put them in, you should definitely do that. I did not realize you could order the wagon with the blocks until after I placed my order. When I wanted to order only the wagon I had to go through another vendor. They are adorable together, and the wagon is a wonderful place to store them when not in use.

I bought these blocks for my daughter's one-year birthday and couldn't be more pleased. They are high quality and absolutely beautiful, with colorful letters, numbers, mathematical signs and animal pictures. Because they are nontoxic, there is no coating on these blocks, but even with her drooling on them I haven't noticed much change, except maybe the wood is a tad darker. It's very hard to notice. Five months later, she still loves stacking them, knocking them down and putting them in containers. I would highly recommend these blocks to anyone! It's also nice they're made in the USA. One thing I didn't think of when I bought them was how they would be stored - I ended up sewing a simple bag with a drawstring to keep them together in one place.

Hi, these look great but the only way I can create the full alphabet is with the yellow and green colors....when I try to with other colors, its all bue 3 or 4 and then I have like 3 E's and A's but no x, etc etc. is this just how they are, or is my set messed up? thanks if anyone can tell me!

These are exactly as billed. They are high-quality, very attractive, wooden blocks. My nine-month-old LOVES them. He doesn't yet know how to stack them, but he sure loves knocking them down when I pile them up. He enjoys taking them out of a box and spreading them around greatly. That they are made from wood (without the concerns about phthalates and BPA) and with non-toxic paints were both reassuring facts as, of course, many of them have been mouthed. Highly recommend these blocks if you're in the market for some.
