I have used this little "Sonic Screwdriver" to help me install items in my computer, fish something out of my purse, unlock my front door at night, read in the back of the car, look for items under my couch... when I first ordered it I was wondering why I'd just wasted my money but now I carry it with me in my purse because it's so useful as a little flashlight! The end fits perfectly between my front teeth for when I need both of my hands to do something (like working on that CPU) and the bright light gets into nooks and crannies that need light that a conventional flashlight wouldn't reach. No it doesn't make noise but that's okay, I can make the noise myself ;)

Being a big Doctor Who fan, I bought this thinking it would be a close replica of the Doctor's own sonic screwdriver. But alas, this is about half the size of what I was expecting, and it was more of a toy than the "prop" I was looking for. I was very dissapointed. I would return it, but I threw away the packaging. Shame.

I have been an avid fan since the early eighties of Doctor Who. I introduced my son to the show a few years ago. He decided to be the Doctor for Halloween. I ordered this one and we both waited eagerly for it to come. I was a little disappointed when the Sonic Screwdriver came, it looked okay but for the money it would have been nicer if it were better made. The molding was not tight in places making it so it didn't fit properly and didn't do anything but light up. Sounds would have been fun to add to it. Anyway, the thing lasted through halloween, shortly after that my son took it apart to figure out how it worked. Didn't ever work after that.
If you want to have this just as a collector, then do so, not really a great toy for under 10 years old. Light was weak, so don't expect it to light your path.

I got this for my husband and he loves it. Of course he is a Doctor Who fan. Those who aren't would have no idea, nor see the purpose of this..but why bother. Husband loves it.

The screwdriver is great! My kids are enjoying it immensely (a simple pleasure that entertains for hours)! It shipped quickly. An overall great value.
