 Not quite like the old toyDec 27, 2006

We purchased this toy becuase my husband had one when he was a toddler - about 51 years ago! While we still have that toy it has gone through many children's hands and is not very playable for our own kids now. I thought a remake would be alike but it isn't. The "grun-grun" sound is not the same and much of the toy is made from plastic instead of wood. The string is quite short so not practical for even my two year old to pull unless I add a longer string to it. Overall it is a cute dog and durable looking toy -but I wonder will it last as well as the 50+ year old original?

WE bought this for our son remembering the old one from our childhood. Unfortunately it is all plastic! No wood at all to be found. The body and face details are all stickers which peel easily off. Where our son enjoys it, I would not pay the amount asked, it's just not worth it. Low quality.

I still have the original Snoopy in perfect working condition, sound and all. My 3 year old grand daughter plays with it and so did my 2 children many years ago. It has survived all these years and I want to save it as an "heirloom" so I purchased this dog to replace it. It is a wonderful duplicate. It seems very sturdy and makes a grrring noise. I had to add a thick piece of shoelace to lengthen the pull cord. It is also a few inches longer than the original but the body is the same. My grand daughter goes for this toy immediately when visiting and the Tiny Teddy with the Xylophone. She pulls the 2 together. (See my other rreview) It is a substantial size and was a few dollars cheaper than QVC when they had their Retro Toy show. No one else sells this. Stick with Amazon. These 2 toys are the best pull toys on the market and guaranteed to make any child happy.

"Eyes Wide Open"
I had a similar dog pull toy back in the 1950's so I had to get this for my youngest grandchild. It's wonderful!! She's not walking yet, but the dog makes the same noise when it's pulled that mine did 50 years ago! The tail isn't as good as mine (it had a little wooden ball at the end of a springy tail) but is probably more "child safe". This dog appears well-built and sturdy.
It arrived when expected (in fact earlier) and this company will be one I use again.

I was quite surprised at how big this thing is. Plus, my daughter really loves this thing. Who would have thought that a simple dog on a string could be so much fun.
