Simply the best baby giftFeb 28, 2009
By T. Nicholson I received this soother as a gift for my son when he was just a few months old and we still use it every day (he's now almost two years old.) It is simply fantatastic. The things I like best about it include the volume control, the duration control (up to 15 minutes of music and lights and I couldn't find any other product to top it), the range of sounds (classical music, classical lullabies, and nature sounds), and the ability to change the display to more complex visual images as your baby grows. I just can't say enough about this item and felt I needed to address some of the complaints listed among these reviews:
The lights aren't bright enough- The lights are plenty bright in a dark room or at night. Yes, if you use it when put your child down for a nap during the day, you probably will not be able to see the projection. If the lights were any brighter, I would be concerned it would keep my child up rather than soothing him to sleep.
Images are upside down- The plastic card that is included will allow you to flip the images over if you are concerned, but really, your baby will not notice if it is projecting on the ceiling.
The images don't move- I found with other mobiles and soothers that project and move, that the moving parts were loud and distracting. With this product, the lights come on and off with different colors in time with the music. I think that's plenty interaction for baby to sleep.
The images are blurry- I don't understand this complaint. I've used this soother in several different rooms at different heights, in different houses and never had a problem. The unit does have a tilt option to adjust the view.
It's a boring show- This product is for babies to soothe them to sleep. If you over-stimulate babies, they don't sleep - simple as that.
No plug in option- I found that even when using this soother multiple times during nap times during the day, and at night, and in the middle of the night when my baby awoke, every single day, I only changed the batteries twice a year. The lack of a plug only gives me flexibility to move it wherever I want. I'd rather have it this way.
Net-net, I think this is the best soother with light show available, and my baby and I love it. I recommend it highly and give it as a gift whenever possible.

Do not buy this for the light show.Oct 18, 2007
By Lilou
"E. Kiken"
Since my daughter's been able to stand in her crib, her sleep patterns are not as consistent as they used to be. I heard that these musical/projection soothers can help.
However, do no buy this one. The images of this projection are horribly blurry unless you have it about two feet from the cieling. I actually laughed when I turned it on and saw how fuzzy the images were. I tested it in a dark room with a white cieling as they recommend.
Saying this, there is one really nice feature to this soother that I haven't found in others yet, which is you can play the soother with music on or music off. There is also a volume control on the music which is nice too.
The music in itself is calming and you options, like natural sounds, classical, etc...
Saying this, I returned the product since the light show was terrible. I wouldn't even call it a light show, more like blotches of muted light on the cieling.
After reading great reviews, I'm going to try the Tomy Light Bright. Hopefully that'll be better.

Great for us!Sep 02, 2008
By J miller After switching from crib to big girl bed, my daughter stopped going to sleep on her own. But after getting this, we put it on as part of our nighttime routine and tell her that when the music and lights shut off- mommy leaves and she goes to sleep. She totally went for it! First we started at 15 minutes on the timer, now I'm out of there in 5. I love the different timer options and I think that the light show is quite adequate for us.

Great productMay 14, 2009
By J. Mehr I bought this because I could not find the turtle soother that I had originally wanted, but have been very pleased. I use it for all of my child's naps and at night. Some of the complaints about the product have to do with the light show. It is only visible at night in a dark room and the pictures can be blurry. However, it is for infants who do not see particularly well in the first place. My daughter does not seem to miss the light show, anyway. She only really cares about the music. The good things about the product are the three volume settings, the choice of music, and the fact that it is portable. You can also change the amount of time the music plays, from 5, 10, to 15 minutes. I have only had to change the batteries once since I bought it several months ago. This has worked out well for us after my daughter became too old for the mobile.

Not all that greatApr 03, 2009
By Jonathan T. Sweet I was looking for something that could take the place of a mobile for my baby's cradle/crib/etc and thought this might fit the bill. My biggest complaints:
- It won't stay on longer than 15 minutes (by design)
- It isn't very bright, the designs only show if the room is almost pitch black
- There isn't any motion, just three shapes that fade in and out
I can't complain too much though, the price was certainly right.
