THE BEST TOY WE'VE BOUGHT SO FARFeb 01, 2008
By poesis Our son has been playing with his Rody since he got it when he was almost 2. He's always been particularly active and he took to it immediately. It's now more than a year and a half later and, while other toys and playthings have gone in and out of fashion, Rody is still his favorite with no sign of waning.
I can't believe how durable this thing is! Our son rides it HARD indoors and out, but Rody can certainly take a licking. It's so great to see a toy last these days.
It's also terrific for stimulating creative play--our son the cowboy has ridden his trusty horse Rody on many an exciting adventure. There was also the barn he built for Rody out of an old box, where Rody slept for a few weeks after we put him to bed each night. And during Christmastime, Rody was a reindeer pulling Santa's sleigh.
And it's incredible exercise too! He just looks like he's having so much fun on it. Our younger son is 16 months and has already started eyeballing Rody and trying to get on it. We'd better get a second one soon to avoid World War III in our house. I really can't recommend this toy enough. It's safe and fun and good for your kid. In these days when it seems that every toy is battery operated and obnoxious, nothing beats Rody for some good, old-fashioned fun. As a parent of 2 young children, and a VERY discriminating toy shopper, I'm delighted to recommend Rody whole-heartedly.

Fun juping toy, and...pet?Dec 23, 2008

We gave this to our daughter for her second birthday and she loved it right away. She even adpoted it as a pet and initially insisted that it was a bunny intead of a horse. That said, she still plays with Rody pretty regularly, 6 months after her birthday. My one caution is that as it is a bouncer it is easy for kids to shift to a side and fall over. I find its important to surpervise the jumping and to make sure that kids are not on Rody and near any furnoture corners, etc at the same time to avoid accidents.

Good for development and fun too!Sep 21, 2009
By Engineer Mom I was actually given a Rody by a therapist, but I'm buying one for Nana's house too! My daughter (9 mo.) has Down Syndrome and this is a great toy to motivate her balance and work her legs. The ears are great for chewing on. All the kids who come over want to try Rody out, and he holds up to my 4-year-old quite well. I highly suggest it for kids of all abilities.
Hint: Light colors get dirty and don't come clean! I saw a yellow one that looked icky after very little use. I recommend the purple and red.

good for the energetic childAug 28, 2008
By Dwide Schrude I bought two of these for my 2 year old twins because they have a lot of energy. In the winter or on rainy days, it's hard to find a good outlet for that energy so fortunatley, a friend (who is an early childhood educator) recommended these and we have been happy with these horses so far. My kids like them, and they also help build their sense of balance and even helps build a little core strength. They can also be inflated even more as the child grows. My 6 year old nephew was bouncing on one the other day with no problems. I also like the fact that these are phthlate and latex free.

Much Fun But Had A DefectJan 18, 2009
By D. K. Buck My almost 3-year-old granddaughters loved Rody and really enjoyed bouncing on him. They did topple over his head a few times at first, so be sure to have plenty of space to avoid accidents. After a few times of play, we noticed the tail had a defect that got worse and worse and developed a tumor-like place. We returned it and haven't gotten the replacement yet. This toy is great for developing muscle tone and balance.
