2-year old funNov 09, 2007

My son got this for his second birthday and LOVES IT! He has very few toys that he likes as much as his matchbox cars, but even the matchbox cars run around and around the track, which makes him giggle! It seems sturdy so far and has a handle for easy carrying. The 2 included cars store inside the toy, which is nice. The figure 8 spinning turns on by a large red button and lasts about 30 seconds, so it's easy for him to operate without help. He's also figured out how to *bop* the car to start it down the track. It is a little loud, but it has an on/off button and you can probably tape over the speaker to quiet it a little. Overall, it's a big hit in our house!

NOT DURABLE!!!! BUYER BEWAREDec 31, 2007

"so many books, so little time"
I bought two of these for Christmas. One was for my 10 month old son and one was for my two year old nephew. My son is still a bit young to enjoy all this toy might have to offer but he enjoys watching his siblings play with it and gets excited by the noise. Ours is still going strong a week after Christmas but my nephew's did not last beyond the general assembly. The noise was there but the track did not spin. It is getting returned. But this is not the worst toy out there. The concept is great and the design is user friendly. The durability is where it lacks in my opinion and in the opinion of other reviewers from what I have read. Here are my pros and cons: PROS: 1) little cars are great for little hands 2) The cars are compatible with other wheel pals toys and are fun to play with by themselves. 3) the race track itself is small in size so it's easy for littler bodies to reach around and over 4) The buttons to start the track and launch the cars are big and easy to push and work great for beginners 5) The bright colors are appealing and do attract users of all ages 6) No small parts to choke on!
CONS 1) One of the two I purchased broke right away so I question the durability 2) It is a bit noisy, it could be worse, but it's definitely not something to use in the same room with someone napping, watching TV,on the phone, etc. 3) The cycle on the track is quick, not in speed, but duration. It seems just as the cars get going the cycle is up and they have to start again, not the worst thing in the world but does frustrate some users.
I do like the toy and I do not regret buying it and I am glad I held on to the receipt and the packaging. Hopefully my son's will last longer than my nephew's did.
UPDATE: MY SON'S BROKE TWO DAYS AFTER THIS POSTED AND THE PROBLEM WAS THE SAME AS MY NEPHEW'S. I WILL BE CONTACTING HASBRO. ZERO STARS FOR DURABILITY!!!! I CAN'T CHANGE MY STAR RATINGS BUT WOULD LOVE TO GIVE THIS TOY ONE STAR ACROSS THE BOARD!!!

DO NOT BUY! IT WILL BREAK!Nov 02, 2008
By M. Palumbo My 18 month old son was very excited about this race track but it broke with in a month. The engine stopped working. I returned and bought a new one b/c he loved it so much. 1 month later, the rubber band thingy broke. Poorly constructed for toddlers.

Too bad - great toy that just won't lastAug 12, 2008
By McBride I bought this toy for my son's 2nd birthday. I had read some reviews that said it breaks easily, but some that sounded like it lasted well, so I decided to give it a shot. This was the toy he was the most excited about when he opened it. He played with it, and it was his favorite of the whole birthday. By the next morning, the motor was no longer working. I tried replacing the batteries, but no luck. So, I packaged it up, and sent it back for an exchange. He was so happy when the second one arrived, and he played with it a bunch. He loves this toy!! Well, by day 4, the motor no longer was working AGAIN! I got a refund. I could not keep breaking his little heart until I got one that worked. Don't waste your time or your money.

A great toy until your 1 1/2 year old gets a hold of itMay 31, 2008

My son loved the race track. He laughed and danced as the cars went round the track. It was a Christmas present that we recently opened (in May) because I felt he was not old enough. Within one day the toy doesn't work. My son pressed on the track, apparently too hard, and now the track doesn't work. Though that was not what he was supposed to do, one would think that a toy made for an 18 month + would be able to withstand a little rough play.
