4nice simple tractorJul 19, 2007
By M. Brown
I purchased this foot to floor tot tractor for my son's 2nd birthday & he absolutely loves it. My husband has a John Deere lawn mower which our son is crazy about & calls "Daddy's tractor", so we knew he'd love having a tractor of his own. We considered a pedal tractor, but decided he wasn't quite big enough for one yet & the Learning Curve sit & scoot w/ farm animals, but decided it had too much unnecessary "junk". In the end we liked this model best because it is nice & simple, "no bells or whistles", just your basic foot powered tractor. The hollow plastic construction frame also seems sturdier than some plastic toys. My husband really wanted something with a "working" steering wheel (one that would actually turn the tires), but my son doesn't know the difference since none of his other ride-ons have been "steerable", so he just turns the wheel & pretends. We purchased ours at a local John Deere equipment dealership & paid $[...], so I'm sure we will more than get our money's worth out of it & will probably up-grade to a pedal tractor when he's a little older. My only complaint is that the stickers won't stay on ours either. I've been very disappointed by that because it won't be near as "cute" without them (although I'm sure my son won't mind). When the stickers began coming off almost immediatly, I thought maybe this was an old one that they'd had at the dealership for quite a while & the stickers had just lost their sticky. After reading in another review that others have had the same problem it makes me feel a little better knowing I'm not the only one with this problem. I've glued down the loose edges of the stickers with craft glue & they seem to be holding a little better now, but we'll just have to wait & see if this is a permanant or temporary fix. All in all, if you want a "no frills" tractor for your little tot, & you're not too worried about the stickers, I'd recommend this one. (This tractor is actually by Ertl not Learning Curve.)

2Poor durability/construction!May 06, 2009
By G. King
This was fun while it lasted...which was not very long.

My son received this as a Christmas gift, it was used inside lightly until about a month ago, when it has been used outside a few times a week, but gently. It has already fallen apart and most of the stickers have come off. I'm going to follow another reviewers advice and try gorilla glue.

My son is an only child, so no older heavier kids beating this up and he is pretty gentle on it...so the only conclusion I can come to is that its just poorly made. Its sad because it is a nice size/design for good riding...but don't buy if you are wanting something to pass down between kids.

4Wonderful baby-powered ride on toy!!Nov 20, 2006
By Vonda Kirkpatrick
My little boy got this tractor for Christmas last year when he was 9 months old. He has played with it literally every day since!! He has gotten so tall that he just stands over it and runs now (he is 20 months), so we will be retiring it after he gets a tricycle for Christmas. We are farmers, so he thinks he's a big man like his daddy and granddaddy when he "drives" his John Deere tractor.

The only reason I didn't give this toy 5 stars is because 2 of the wheel stickers came off early on, and the rest of the stickers are very ragged around the edges. My little boy could care less, he just loves his tractor.

4For the money, can't beat itSep 06, 2007

Based on the price, I am really happy with this toy. My son is two and he LOVES this tractor. We have hard wood floors and it works great on them. Glides nicely without scratching them. My son is really big for his age and a bit rough on everything in the house - so I was looking for a sturdy ride on toy for inside. Most of the toys like this are a little flimsy and I am afraid he will pull them over and flip if he leans backwards - no issues with this tractor though after three months of solid use. It's very sturdy and durable. The stickers do come off but I knew that before buying it based on the other reviews and I can live with it. It doesn't make any noises and has no electronic moving parts - YAHOO! Finding a toy that makes my son happy, doesn't easily injure him, gets him a little exercise, keeps him busy and doesn't play some nursery rhyme over and over at loud volume requiring tons of batteries... for this price? Excellent! I gave it 4 stars because the stickers do come off and I wish they hadn't.

5Worth the moneySep 22, 2009

We picked one of these up at the county fair for our 19 month old daughter. It was inexpensive and exactly what we were looking for--no batteries required, and therefore, no obnoxious noise. She loves the roll around on the hardwood floors inside and I can see her negotiating space and corners, which is great for spatial learning. It's compact and fits nicely in the toy corner. My daughter is tall for her age (80th percentile), but she fits on the tractor with no problems. We've only had it a few days, but I don't have any concerns about craftmanship at this point. It's a cheap toy and I don't expect it to be a family heirloom; if it lasts a couple years, I'll feel like I got my money's worth, even if the stickers do fall off, as so many others have mentioned.
