First Rate Toy (for all ages)Dec 28, 2006
By Helen Highwater This Christmas we bought our second set of Magna-tiles. Their play value has lasted all year, and the expansion of the set was almost as exciting as the first set. My son is disabled, and these are great user-friendly toys with which any child can succeed. They've also survived the dog's inquisitive mouth. We personally like the clear colors, but were tempted to try the opaque tiles (with opening door/window). Last but not least, the tiles foster creativity.

Magna-Tiles Rock!!!May 28, 2007
By D. Wheeler
"involved mom and roller disco diva"
My kids first saw these at a friends house a few months ago. Their Mom told me that no matter who comes to visit or how bored the kids are, these always get played with. I love the endless design options and ended up buying the "100" playset along with 4 of the "32" piece playsets for my sons 7th birthday. My kids (also a daughter age 8) have made every structure imaginable and continue to find new, inventive ways to play with these. I love that they add their own ideas on with their Magnetix playsets as well. I can forsee that these will help them with geometry as hands-on models that they can replicate...the uses for learning go on and on...from someone who still has all of our original lego duplo playsets, I can see this lasting indefinitely! Highly recommend this item if and when you can find it. Worth the high price!

Neat activity for a busy 4 year old!Jun 07, 2007

"teacher educator"
The real critic is my granddaughter who likes the Magna-Tiles lots! This particular set teaches about color combining because the tiles are translucent. We're finding out that once she figures out a combination she'll try it in paint as she is "arting." Originally saw it in a school; it works equally well at home and does not require direct teaching or too much explaining.

Great toy, Artifically inflated pricingDec 02, 2011
By Thomas Lee This is a wonderful toy. In late 2011, the big problem is that the company manufacturers in Thailand. Due to the recent flooding in Thailand, the company, Valtech, is entirely sold-out. Toy companies are completely taking advantage of virtually zero-supply and strong product demand to really mark-up the price. The company's own website lists the 32-piece clear set at $51.50, which is only 3 dollars more than the 32-piece non-clear set. the 100-piece clear set is listed on the company web site at $120 and the 100-piece non-clear set is listed at $110. By contrast, in December 2011, online toystores are selling the 100-pieces sets at up to $299 and the 32-piece sets at $100 or more. When you read comments on the toy being "over-priced," check the date of the review and consider what price the customer paid. The power of supply-and-demand.

They have lasted years in my house!Mar 04, 2009
By Gillian F. Earle Not only do I agree with the reviewers about how they, are fun for everyone easy to clean up and they have lasted 6x longer than any toy in the house. My mother(also a teacher) bought my kids the big set after playing with the 32 piece set at her house. I thought she was crazy spending all that money on a toy. They get played with every single day, my daughter just built herself a Bakugan Holder. They have been in my house 3 YEARS and have not had one break or crack or anything. My children have been playing with them from 2- 7.5YEARS OLD, and continue to do so. I think they have lasted longer than anything I have ever purchased for them. Clean up is kind of fun because the magnets allow them to be picked up with ease. I LOVE THESE THINGS I don't think my children will ever outgrow them, and I find them much more fun to build with than any other toy out there!!!!
