Great Toy!Aug 18, 2010 We bought this for our 2 1/2 y.o. son. From the moment we took it out of the box, he has loved it! It's great for his fine motor skills. The only complaint was that door #1 was really hard to open. My husband sanded it down a little and it was easily fixed.
AddictiveJul 30, 2010 This is the end all be all puzzle for a kid who loves gadgets and doors. My son gets quite addicted to this. It will take him awhile to figure out all the latches on his own, but that gives it a long lasting quality. Inside each door is fun learning about colors, counting and animals! Its a big puzzle, and very well made. Excellent for fine motor skills as well. Awesome buy.
DisappointedJul 17, 2010 Some of these locks are enough of a challenge but others just fall open almost without any help at all. The chain one and the hook and loop one never stay locked for a child to unlock them. This is too easy for any children to do more than a few times.
Fun toy, nice skills improvementJul 08, 2010 My son got this toy as a gift for his second birthday. The latches vary in difficulty to maneuver so there were immediately a few he could do but the others provided a challenge for him to grow into. I really like how quickly his hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills improved with this. It also is a counting toy, as behind each little door is a grouping of animals like fish and horses to count. It is a colorful, well-made toy - recommended for any 2-year-old.
It could have been made betterJun 03, 2010 My Grandson loves this, only problems were the rounded part on the latch on the lower right popped right off. It is plastic and painted with brass paint and the perfect choking size. I think if it had been made of metal it wouldn't have popped off so easy. The other latch that everyone is saying is difficult is the other problem. It really is difficult to use so we will have to figure something out on that. We will also have to find a way to get that plastic piece to stay on and it will be a toy we won't let him play with alone since that one piece popped off so easy then maybe other pieces will too.
