My son loves it!Aug 25, 2010 He's so happy with this toy. He's been playing with it from 12 - 18 months so far. It is exactly what I wanted - non-powered, pull-along, endearing. See picture!
a great toy for little walkersAug 12, 2010 This little alligator-on-a-leash is a great toy for toddlers. It's a simple, mechanical thing - they pull the string, and the alligator dances and clacks, following them around. It can be used by crawlers as well, as they can simply pull the alligator by his face or tail and get the same dancing-clacking effect. And even with the wooden slats moving back and forth, it can't pinch your child's fingers.
As with all Plan Toys, it's safe for your child and for the environment: the dyes are all food-grade, so even if you toddler gnaws on it, it's totally non-toxic. The wood is harvested from old, disused rubber trees that would be cut down anyway, so it's not contributing to deforestation.
Also, like all Plan Toys, the construction is very solid. Even the string to pull the alligator is thick and sturdy. There's even a tiny rubber ridge on the wheels to help it get good traction on all types of floors so it doesn't just turn into a sliding toy that doesn't dance.
LOVE this!Jul 03, 2010 My 10 month old LOVES this toy!! He is not walking yet, but loves to pull the string and shake the alligator to make it make noise. He plays with it all the time! Great durable and very cute toy!
it's neatJun 03, 2010 this toy is pretty neat. it makes cool wood-on-wood clickity-clackity sounds. the little girl i bought it for (1 year old) seems to really like it. no educational value, but so what.
the craftsmanship is nice, and the parents seemed to love it.
i'll probably buy this or something similar for my baby when he starts trying to walk.

So simple but so amusing!Feb 06, 2010 My 18 month old LOVES this little guy. She walks everywhere with it; I think the sound encouraged her to start running. I loathe all those crazy noises that come out of electronic gadgets these days so love to hear noises from a toy that are not those.
