Puh___LEEZEEEE! Don't waste your money!Dec 29, 2007
By L. K. Stevens

This toy is a complete waste of money. My 8 year old wanted this so badly. On Christmas she opened it and WAS SO EXCITED. After seven hours of trying to get on the site to log in.... we found that the "code" was invalid and would not allow her to log-in her pet (the code had "already been used"). We bought this from a reputable, well-known company and it should have been valid, but there is no contact information on the site to rectify this issue, so we are out the funds and she is upset. We have a very expensive, useless 5" stuffed animal.
Her sister, who also received one, lost interest after a one hour and 45 minute hassle of trying to NAME the animal (only one name can be used per animal on the entire website--so out of 1,000,000 people who bought this, all names are exhausted....) What a crock!
Anyway - the site is horribly slow, the naming is bad, and my kids are disappointed. Save your money and get a Webkinz. They stand behind a quality product. This is a wasteful attempt by a company to reproduce and profit from an idea of an already successful product by a company that did it right. I regret this purchase completely.

Website experience is worthlessDec 27, 2007
By Judy B
"Frequent web shopper"
I got an epet for my 6 year old for Christmas, and convinced her that it was just as good as a Webkinz (which is what she wanted). That assurance deteriorated rapidly when trying to register and get into the website. Despite having the fastest DSL available, it took minutes for each page to load, and the audio skipped and stalled. It took about 3o minutes to finally get registered and my daughter had lost interest long before. We are returning the toy. If you are willing to pay $10 for a cute stuffed animal, then fine. But if your expectations include a fun online play experience for your child, skip this toy.

Shoddy knockoff productDec 25, 2007
By N. Spencer This is a cheap (as in poorly executed) me-too knockoff of a much better product. My daughter has both the original and an ePet. EPets are marketed as having an active on-line component. The website is small, restrictive, and (worst of all) the on-line games don't work. The games are the mechanism by which children earn currency to care for their pets, and my daughter is nearly in tears because her pet is going to "starve". The technical support is pathetic. After two or three suggestions -- update your Flash player, turn off your pop-up blocker -- they start pointing fingers elsewhere. They even tried to blame my ISP, which I haven't seen anyone else try for half a decade.
The plush toy is OK, I suppose. Don't expect to get anything out of the on-line experience. It's such a complete waste of money the advertising borders on fraud.
Paid Too MuchDec 15, 2008
By L. Barthol I just received my Rescue Pet epet Golden Retriever and was surprised at how small it was. I thought I was buying the bigger dog. This toy cost [...] and I saw the exact same thing at Walgreens today for [...]. Target on-line is selling them for [...]. I feel ripped off! I didn't realize Amazon.com could be that much more expensive than other stores. It pays to shop around.
