Was Scooby Skunked??Nov 20, 2007
By Genvieve These are adorable... agreed. However, here are a few issues:
1. They smell horrible.
2. Velma has no underwear.
3. ToysRUs sells them for $14.99 (and the van for $19.99)...
The smell, is bad enough, that I would pass on these (given the option). They are made in China and I'm not sure what shade of toxic these might be, but, after multiple washings and soakings, the stink still comes off on your hand. And, you might find yourself 'sniffing' them out if you are in the same room with them. NOt really the type of 'joy' I was looking forward to giving my 3 year old. From the minute she got them, she would play with them, with her nose plugged. Ruh-Row!!

Love These!Jul 11, 2008

First off let me say that I almost didn't order these because of the reviews that they smelled but I'm so glad I did. The set that arrived does not smell at all, not even the smallest bit. We got them for my daughters 3rd birthday and she loves them. They are very cute and seem to be built well. The scooby is super cute, he is double jointed and has a button on the back of his head that make his eyes pop out. I would highly recommend these if you have a child that likes scooby doo.

BUYERS BEWAREJan 25, 2008

We bought these for our 3 year old son for Christmas. It has been a month since then and our son loves them, but there is a BIG problem. The paint on them all had been steadily falling off. Freddy now has only patches of paint on his arms, and Daphne has only a spot of paint left on her head. With the recent issues involving Chinese made toys, I decided to throw them all out this morning. The toys are great as long as you don't mind you children ingesting the paint from them. If you do buy them, check them constantly for signs of deterioration. But, I would highly discourage this purchase.

Scooby for the wee onesAug 26, 2007
By Lit Nerd This morning while stocking at Toys R Us, I was thrilled to death to see new Scooby Doo toys. The first thought that entered my mind when I saw the Mystery Inc crew was, "They're so cute!" Indeed, like the new Spiderman and Justice League toys for preschoolers, the gang has been shrunk and made into easy to hold, durable, cute figures for the littler ones who need bigger pieces, more durable and smaller sized figures for their comfort and safety.
However, being a much older kid who loves Scooby Doo, I noticed some things odd about the gang. First off: Freddy's eyes. In most of the sets, he has "crazy eyes". Also, the paint jobs aren't that great in a lot of the sets. A more commmon trend we see now in toys now that they're being poisoned in---er---made in China and other countries even more cheaply than before.
However, your littles ones won't care. It's Scooby and the gang! And they're so cute and made just right for smaller hands. Even better, Scooby's eyes bug out of his head, fitting his cowardly personality. You can almost hear him going "Ripes!". Of course, if you're not young but young at heart like me, you'll love them all the same. I know I do. They're currently solving mysteries in my room like the case of the missing pencil while cruising in the new Mystery Machine ya'll should check out as well.

Buy these much cheaper at Toys R Us!!Jun 18, 2010
By M. Whilap I bought these for a friend's child and when my own child couldn't stop talking about them, decided to get one for her. I decided to head over to Toys R Us and maybe get a comparable product. I paid $9.99 for the exact same thing!! On Amazon I paid $15.99 plus shipping, so $21.99!!!! I can't even believe it! The seller was Santa's Workshop and I recall seeing similarly over-priced items from that seller. Beware! Not a bargain at this price!!
