Perfect forf a toddlerDec 03, 2005
By scientific mom This mini-kitchen is PERFECT for the two-year-old toddler going through the "mimic mommy" phase. My daughter recieved this for her second birthday, and it could not have been at a better time. She is very social and active (outgoing) and rarely plays with ANY toys (especially not puzzles, books, and other quiet play). She has played with this kitchen more in the past couple weeks than all her other toys combined in the past year.
The kitchen stands about her height (approx 3 ft) and isn't too deep to sit in the corner and be out of the way. I LOVE that it DOESN'T make any noises, words, etc (other than the phone beeps). She is too young to get any benefit out of it, and makes her own noises instead (and she can continue to use it if I'm on the phone or baby brother is napping). I also love that the refrigerator is full-sized, unlike most models. I don't think she would know what the half-sized refrigerator on other playsets is.
This kitchen is SUPER durable. I've caught her twice, now, jumping up and down on the oven and diswasher doors, and I can't believe they don't break. The stickers are coming up just a little on some edges, but I have every reason to believe it is because we stored this in the garage in sub-freezing temperatures for a few weeks before her birthday. They are not curling enough for her to notice and pull them off (which she would do immediately).
Her favorite things about it:
- The phone (what toddler doesn't like a play phone?)
- The sink (pretends to wash the dishes)
- The ice/water dispenser in the refrigerator door (sees mom and dad use this on the real one all the time)
- The microwave (pretends to push the buttons - the other day I found a plate with "pizza" on it in there, so she definitely knows what it is!)
We bought her some pots/pans at Walgreens for $4 that fit perfectly on the stove (they are about 4" diameter). We also bought her the Living Food For Fun plastic food set here on Amazon (HIGHLY recommended), and a cheap "tea" set with cups and plates at Walmart.

Great first kitchen for toddlersOct 16, 2005
By Mom of 3 Santa brought this kitchen for my 16 month old last Christmas and she has been playing with it almost every day ever since. This is a great first kitchen for chidren ages 1-3 although older children still enjoy playing with it when they visit. It has all of the basics, a fridge, oven, dishwasher, microwave and sink. My child has no problem opening and closing all of the doors and I haven't had any problems with the door falling open. This is a great kitchen for the little ones because even at 16 months, my daughter could reach all of the doors on the "appliances". Another great thing about this kitchen is that it comes in the box fully assembled! That's something of a rarity these days with large children's toys. If I have one complaint, it's that the faucet doesn't move, so my daughter can't pretend to turn on and off the water. But that's a small drawback considering all of the other pros.

Great, solid first-kitchen toyOct 02, 2005
By Joe Pillera This toy is solid, simple, durable, and gives our children hour after hour of enjoyment. My only wish is that the phone accessory was corded (so the kids can't keep misplacing it).
Other than that, I strongly recommend it.

Nice and Sturdy, but SmallDec 26, 2003
This item is made out of sturdy, thick plastic. No assembly required (the stickers are even already on). It has all the appliances you could want in a kitchen--fridge, dishwasher, oven, microwave, and even a phone--with plenty of storage space for dishes and play food. However, it does not come with any accessories. Also, the sink handle does not move (so baby can't pretend to turn it off or on), and sink does not have a removable basin. The electronic phone (with sounds) is a nice feature, and was a major selling point in my decision to purchase this item. Please be aware that this item is for SMALL children. My daughter is not even 2 (and average height) and it is just right for her now, so she will probably outgrow it in a year or two. The height is actually just over 30 inches (this site shows it as over 36 inches, but I think the height and width must be reversed). Overall, a solid product, but I was disappointed in the size.

Wonderful KitchenFeb 06, 2005
By K Michelle i bought this for my daughters 2nd birthday (jan 2005) and she plays with it daily! this is a wonderful play kitchen that is not too over the top in its design like some of the others. in this kitchen imagination is encouraged, as it doesn't make any sounds (my daughter loves to make the sounds herself). its compact design makes it easy to place in a room without taking up a lot of space. there is plenty of storage for play food and utencils. best of all, you can fill it with water or sand to weigh it down, so it can't be pushed across the room. it is made from quality thick plastic like you'd find in a daycare centre or preschool, so it will stand up to a lot of wear and tear, making it worth the extra money. this is the kitchen to buy if you're after something simple, compact and durable that encourages imaginative play!
