Lots of fun & great way to teach kids about bankingMay 17, 2008
By wbm My 6 and 8 year old boys each have one. The ATM works well and they really enjoy them. It's also a great way to teach younger kids the concept of an bank account/ATM - that you can only get out what you put in and the bank isn't just some bottomless cash pit. Quality is pretty good for the price. For younger kids, it seems a little too tedious to enter deposit amounts (for each bill) and withdrawal amounts so ours have never been able to accurately track how much is in it. Plus there's no way for them to track how many Reece's or Hershey bars are stashed away in it. But they do enjoy making deposits and withdrawals and counting how much they have in it. One word of advice - watch out for your credit cards. Both my sons promptly lost the fake cards that comes with it and you need to insert a credit card in the slot to activate the ATM. So when my Amex went missing, it didn't take long to figure out where it was.
If you forget the PIN, you can reset it to 1234 by taking out the batteries. To reprogram your own PIN, enter the current PIN+ENTER, then press ENTER twice more, then the new PIN+ENTER.

Bank machineJan 10, 2007
By T. Cranmer I bought this for my daughter who was saving her money in a jar and would recount it every time some one gave her money. Now she just adds it like a deposit at a regular ATM machine and loves that even with change she knows the total. It is great and I would recommend it to any parent who wants to teach their kids the value of saving.

Great teaching tool.Jan 21, 2007
By A. Ruhf This item is great for teaching the basics on how to save your money. My 9 year old son enjoys the ability to have his own password and the ability to deposit money and withdraw money just as if he is at the bank. He has even figured out a way to use the atm machine as a place to store his gift cards as well. Great idea, and I highly recommend it.

Coins entered incorrectly valuedDec 28, 2007

I love the idea of this product. However, it incorrectly counts the value of the coins enterred, counting a nickel as a quarter and a penny as a nickel occasionally, completely making the account balance incorrect. It is unfortunate that such a marvelously creative toy isn't more properly made. Additionally, I don't like how the money drawer just collects the money in a pile, instead of sorting it slightly. If they improved those two items I think it would be an exceptional product.

Great Educational ToyJan 09, 2007
By Harold E. Drumheller This was purchased for my seven-year-old daughter as a Christmas gift, and not only has she "played" with it, but she uses it as a means of keeping track of her money. She has spent quite a bit of time learning an important life skill. She checks her balance each time she makes her change deposit, and she has already changed her PIN twice to keep out her older brothers! Great toy for teaching kids how to manage their money, and use technology to do so.
